History of Red Fork Assembly of God
Established November 1956

The first meeting of Red Fork Assembly of God was held November 25th, 1956. Rev. H. A. Brummett borrowed $300.00 to begin financing the church.

He made arrangements to purchase 10 lots with a house on the east side of the property at the present location of 4241 S 37th W Ave, Tulsa, Oklahoma. He paid $25.00 down and agreed to pay $25.00 a month with the total paid by November 1957.

With the remaining $250.00 he bought a used Army squad tent and had electricity brought on the property. The tent had sawdust on the floor and open-flame gas stoves for heat. The first Sunday they had 37 present.

Funds were raised and the property was paid off in the spring of 1957.

Foundations were laid and building begun.

With the property paid for, the congregation started making plans for a permanent church building.
Pastor Brummett and the men of the church did the biggest part of the construction work. They did hire a man to lay the cement blocks. What a glorious day when they could finally take down the tent and move next door into their new building.

The educational rooms and fellowship hall were added during the 60's. This was a much needed addition to
the church. A new parsonage was also purchased during the 60's. This was bought as a kit for $15,000.
Pastor Beeson and Bro. Darnell laid the blocks for the front porch. The large garage was added at a later date.

The Church as it was in 1957

Many people have come and gone through the doors of Red Fork Assembly. Some have become pastors, evangelists and teachers.

The present day slogan is "Beyond these doors lies our mission field." The heart of this ministry is to reach out to those unsaved. We want to show them the love of Christ and bring them to a saving knowledge of Jesus as their Savior. To God be the glory.

The Church as it is today.

Although repairs and remodeling have taken place in the past five years, the basic foundation of the church building is still strong.

The strong spiritual foundation is also still present in the hearts of the congregation today.
